Our Commitment
Hooker & Stitch is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
What We Do
We strive to ensure our website:
- Provides text alternatives for all non-text content including product images
- Offers sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds (minimum 4.5:1 ratio)
- Is fully navigable via keyboard with a visible skip-to-content link
- Works with assistive technologies including screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS)
- Uses clear, simple language and proper semantic HTML structure
- Provides proper form labels, error messages, and ARIA attributes
- Includes focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Offers a cookie consent banner with clear opt-in/opt-out controls
- Supports reduced motion preferences via prefers-reduced-motion
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and resolve any barriers. If you encounter any issues, please let us know so we can address them.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our site. If you encounter any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at hello@hookerandstitch.com. We take all feedback seriously and will do our best to respond within 2 business days.
